Waste Management & Recycling Association of Singapore

About WMRAS

The Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) was set up in 2001 as the only non-profit trade association for solid waste management with the aim to advocate best practices as well as the transfer of knowledge amongst industry players. WMRAS plays a pivotal role in facilitating working relationships among businesses, the government, and community in order to create a more sustainable living environment. Our membership covers a wide spectrum of the industry including waste collection, recycling and recovery and e-waste, hazardous and biohazardous waste, and ranges from equipment and service providers and SMEs to large MNCs. As Singapore's representative for the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), WMRAS actively engages with ISWA to create a platform for sharing expertise and knowledge during international conferences and webinars. As an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) in Singapore, WMRAS also provides Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses for frontline operations staff as well as curate and manage programmes for waste management professionals.

OUR VISION

The vision and mission of WMRAS is to develop “a competitive, world-class local industry, employing superior technology and practices, which serve as the basis for providing high-quality waste management and recycling services to clients throughout the region.” In recent times, WMRAS has also adopted the tagline “Creating a healthier and more sustainable living environment” in support of the government’s efforts towards creating a “Zero Waste Nation”.
